P Cygni or 34 Cygni is a big, bright variable star which lies in the Cygnus constellation. It is situated approximately 5000 to 6000 light years away from the planet earth. It is considered as one of the brightest star of Milky Way. It was discovered in 1600 by Willem Janszoom Blaeuw, a famous Dutch astronomer.
